[music |OBJECTION!]

I haven't read The Onion in a while, but I thought this was brilliant:

Evolutionists Flock To Darwin-Shaped Wall Stain

Comments?

In other news, we finally have the oven fixed and the knob and tube out of the house! Yay! Now there's just the porches, the holes in the walls from the wiring, the ceiling in the living room, the deck to build, and painting to do, more or less.

I am also really enjoying my new semester, particularly the psych course "Minds, Brains, and Machines".

[music |Bustle of the Capital -- FFXI ToAU OST]

For [info]happyditty, just in case she hasn't seen these yet, and also generally applicable.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all...

Here is a related but different take.

Oh, and as regards the game, my Tuesday nights may be booked... if I go with a certain course selection. If it is not possible to move to another night, I will switch my courses around.

Shut up, I don't want to hear it, it's my decision. ...Thank you. :)

I am sick. Good-night.

The Excerpts [Apr. 24th, 2008|03:30 am]
[mood | optimistic]
[music |Cave Story (Main Theme) -- Doukutsu Monogatari OST]

So for the past week or so, Wizards of the Coast has been releasing "excerpts" as previews for Dungeons and Dragons 4.0.

Here is the list, sorted by date. The 4.0 ones, I believe, start with "Devils" on April 14.

A more comprehensive "collected fact and rumour" page can be found at EN World here.

So far, I really, really like it, but I will post a more thorough opinion piece later on.

Enjoy!

My Personality
Neuroticism

Openness to Experience

Agreeableness

Conscientiousness
34
You rarely get angry and it takes a lot to make you angry, however you feel strong cravings and urges that you have difficulty resisting. You tend to prefer short-term pleasures and rewards over long-term consequences. You tend not to talk much and prefer to let others control the activities of groups. You are reasonably interested in the arts but are not totally absorbed by them. You do not like to claim that you are better than other people, and generally shy from talking yourself up, however you are tenderhearted and compassionate, feeling the pain of others vicariously and are easily moved to pity. You have a strong sense of duty and obligation, and feel a moral obligation to do the right thing.

Wow. My jaw actually dropped at this one. What do you think?

[info]happyditty: Sorry I haven't got back to you about your question, I crashed after exams. Will do very soon.

So, OK, great. A total of 23.75% of my grade for the semester will be decided tomorrow.

Wish me luck. Back to studying.

TV meme [Apr. 3rd, 2008|03:44 pm]
1. Bold the shows you've watched every episode of
2. Italic the shows you've seen at least one episode of
3. Post your answers
4. Add one show you've watched that isn't on the list.

Cut for length (giggity) )
Gosh, I watch more TV than I thought. Also, I really, really like comedy.

Here this is. I had a middle ear infection in childhood and lost some of my hearing, but I don't know if that's relevant.

Back to work -- I continue to be run off my feet. More when I have time.

New Computer [Mar. 16th, 2008|07:37 pm]
[mood | excited]
[music |Astor Piazzolla -- Prelude to the Cyclical Night (Part 1)]

I... am typing these lines... from a new computer that my friends Graham, Andrew, and James saw fit to pool their money together to get for me as a belated Christmas present.

They don't read this journal, but I want to take the time to thank them. THanks, guys. You really went above and beyond the call of duty on this one.

So I was taking the bus home from the University today, and there was an older man (I refuse to use the word "gentleman") who was three sheets to the wind and pestering the young woman beside him for personal information in a think, barely intelligible Italian accent.

So, I stepped in. I informed the young woman that I have a bad knee and I wondered if I could have her seat. She gratefully complied.

I am the most awesome person ever. Like, seriously. :D it was quite a fulfilling and validating experience. Now if I could just, you know, stop hating my own sexuality so damn much, that'd be even better.

Snagged from [info]minor_ramblings.

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on lima beans, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc.

Oh, and if you ask me to blog about my love life, I will laugh in your face.
